Full Circle

We took off from the starting line
at the same time.
Running the race in different directions.
Seeking affection from the opposite persuasion.
1st Kiss, 1st Crush, 1st Love.
Dating, relationships, relations.
Jumping hurdles of all kinds.
Investing body, soul, & mind.
This race at times becomes a relay.
As we pass the baton to our team mate,
who dropped it in midstride.
Leaving us alone to chase something in the distant future.
As we turned the corner,
we unknowingly began to approach one another.

In first passing, something happened.
We felt an unspoken passion!
I gave a little, he took a little.
She got to know a little, I got to grow a little.
It’s the little things that add up.
That make you know you’re with someone you can’t pass up.
This relationship could have hit the wall.
But after the 1st year
we decided to give it our all.
To give each other our hearts.
A fresh start.
Finally face to face.
Nothing missing, nothing broken.
